UHF RFID Wristbands

Wristbands with advanced auto-ID technology for greater patient satisfaction

SATO RFID wristbands utilise radio frequency identification with integrated circuit (RFID IC) technology. They are available in high-frequency (HF), ultra-high-frequency (UHF), or near-field range and can be used in various situations and settings.

The RFID IC allows patients to be scanned from greater distances - up to 2 meters away with UHF custom wristbands - and in multiple locations if RFID readers are strategically positioned around the healthcare facility.

This feature enables staff to scan and track patients, such as infants in incubation units, from a distance. In all cases, it makes patients stay more comfortable by eliminating the need to disturb them when scanning. The RFID Line NFC can also be used for managing access control for authorised personnel.

Product Features

  • Simplify processes & enhance efficiency

SATO RFID wristband UHF chips have ECP memory of 128 bits and a read range of around 2m up to 10m

  • Top quality material for best print outcome

Produced using top-quality anti-microbial synthetic polypropylene material and designed with adhesive closure boasting a tamper evidence system for improved security.

  • Shape and design customisation available

Shape and design of NFC wristbands can be customised to suit customer's requirements. All SATO wristbands are water, hot water, soap, hand sanitiser, and solvents resistant.

  • Work seamlessly with SATO printers to print and encode variable information

Variable information such as seat numbers, time, price, barcodes and serial numbers etc can be printed and encoded on wristbands using SATO printers.

Wristbands for positive patient identification

Patient wristbands play an important role throughout a patient’s inpatient or outpatient stay. The wristband contains critical information about the patient, including his/her name, identification number, blood type, allergies, etc., to enable healthcare service providers to enhance patient safety, such as by ensuring the right medications and treatments are provided to the right patient at the right time.

Compared to handwritten wristbands, printed wristbands leveraging auto-ID technologies such as barcodes and RFID provide additional peace of mind as they can be scanned for positive patient identification while avoiding human errors such as illegibility or misreading of information.
What are some common challenges that RFID wristbands help resolve?

Common challenges hospitals face:

  • Virus infection risk from scanning patients' barcode IDs at close range
  • Patients' rest is disturbed when scanning their barcode IDs
  • Safety concerns due to lack of visibility in patients' location
What are some benefits of using RFID wristbands?

Minimise intrahospital spread of viruses

benefit1

Our antimicrobial RFID wristbands are designed for use in healthcare environments. They allow care providers to identify patients without physical contact, thus reducing the risk of virus transmission.

Simplify processes for patients and hospital staff

benefit_illus31

As RFID wristbands can be scanned from up to 2 meters away in any orientation, without requiring a direct line of sight, patient wristbands can be scanned even from over a blanket without disruption.

Enable location tracking to safeguard patients

benefit_illus22-e1629344510511

Use wall/ceiling-mounted RFID readers and antennas to monitor patient movements for greater patient safety. Hospital staff can be alerted immediately of any unexpected or unauthorised patient movement beyond defined areas.

How and where is RFID technology utilised in hospitals?

system_flowEN2

  • RFID products contain sensitive semiconductor chips, which may cause varied read performance depending on the environment.
  • Field testing for RFID solutions is necessary in the customer's actual operating environment before implementation.
  • As RFID solutions are developed based on field testing, any subsequent changes to tagging positions and other conditions may impact their intended performance.
